Crew Leaders

SCC empowers individuals to positively impact their lives, their communities and the environment. 

Southwest Conservation Corps’ Crew Leaders perform many roles and are the key to our program’s success. The position is multi-faceted and demanding, but with opportunity for enormous rewards. Successful candidates will demonstrate resourcefulness, effective communication skills, excellent judgement, maturity, initiative, professionalism, and the desire to devote themselves to a crew experience where the needs of others are placed above oneself. The Crew Leader position requires, mentorship, patience, technical aptitude, focus on efficiency, and a high level of comfort in the outdoors. Crew Leaders are ultimately responsible for successes and short-comings of the crew.

Adult Crew – Crew Leader

Start/end date: Late March 2017 – Late November 2017

Wages: $460-600 weekly DOE/DOQ in season; $400 weekly during 8-week training period.

Strike Teams 

Navigation Crew Leader - Continental Divide Trail, New Mexico

 When? May 29 - July 21    Wages: $460- 600 DOE  Schedule: 9 days on, 5 days off

This is an intensive backcountry navigation project for the entirety of the Continental Divide Trail that lies within New Mexico’s Forest Service and BLM land. We are seeking two crew leaders for this small team mission marking trails through metal markers, posts and cairns.
