Climate Corps Members with the Los Valles Region Summarize their SCC experience:

This experience will change the way people see our world and the need to protect the environment.  Just like the original Conservation Corp, working within nature builds stronger people in both environmental stewardship and their relationships with themselves and the community around them.

The single most influential and beneficial experience of my life.  I could not be happier that I chose to participate in this program!

SCC taught me that there is a lot more out there than I expected.  I never thought I could live away from the city and now I don’t want to go back.  I learned that I can make a difference, that I can push myself harder than I ever thought possible.  Because of SCC, I can continue to pay for school.  That is really important to me.

The experience was beautiful both in terms of the environment we worked in and the people I met

I not only saw amazing places but I also met amazing people.  I learned more than I expected about my environment, people and my self.

This summer has brought out the best in me.  I not only gained leadership and outdoor skills, I gained a family and formed a bond with my crew that will last a lifetime.

The conservation corps is one of the best things I have ever done in my life.  It has taught me a lot about trails and the environment and brought me to new places in life.

Life changing – great program that empowers young adults to change their communities for the better of the whole.

Most amazing life changing experience

I had no idea what to expect but SCC exceeded everything I could have wanted this summer.  The staff, my crew leaders and my crew are like a family now and I will continue to do conservation corps for many summers to come.

I had a great time and I would like to do this again here or somewhere different.

This experience has truly changed me for the better;  I have learned to be a leader, accept everyone for their differences, and truly make a difference in wilderness areas.  There is no other experience like corps work.

The conservation corps experience is outstanding for individuals and essential for the community and land.  There should be more corps in the United States.

Great summer working with great people.  I learned a lot and grew as a person.  I work much better in groups now.

I absolutely loved it and would totally do it again.  It was new and exciting and challenging, but awesome.

I really enjoyed my time with SCC and look forward to coming back in the fall.

Helped me gain pragmatic skills and understand how natural resource management works.

It was one of the best experiences in my life and it has changed me in great ways.

I learned about things I had never known anything about, and I’m coming away with many work and life skills.

My experience with SCC was very positive.  I learned a lot and plan to continue spending time in the outdoors.
