The crew sharing pie

Last friday, my crew and I went to the Chaffee County fair. As we were debriefing friday, our crew leader Christy had informed us that the next week of work would consist of cleaning up the fair. The weekend came and went, and sure enough monday had finally arrived. We began monday without our assistant crew leader(she didn’t return ’till thursday), Dominica, but she was in Utah to participate in her familys’ friend’s wedding. We sweeped and cleaned the building the roller derby girls use. We shoveled and made short work of gargantuan piles of sawdust(that was a slight exaggeration)! The next day we moved tons of panels, took down a very long fence, and set up dozens of horse/cattle pens. Wednesday, Sarah was of to get her driver’s license, thus our crew was diminished to five out of seven people. Luckily, our only task that day was to clean numerous chairs and tables. There was a freak rainstorm halfway through the day, however we worked inside all day, and didn’t get drenched! Thursday Dominica and Sarah were back, but Whitney was at home sick. So, it was a bummer that everyone wasn’t there for the last day of work! After a quick run to Safeway, we went to the fairgrounds and started work. Our job site supervisor Jim, had us set up for a wedding reception that would have 400 people! We then preceded to finish setting up the rest of the horse/cattle pens. I’m sad that this our last week together, and I’ll never forget what a wonderful time I had working for SCC! I personally want to thank SCC for hiring me, and letting me into this amazing program! I also want to thank my crew mates; Dominica, Tom, Jake, Sarah, Whitney, and Christy you guys are wickedly awesome!
