OSM/VISTA Teams Win 2011 Department of Interior Award
Posted by SCC on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011.The two OSM/VISTA Teams are a recipient of the 2011 Department of the Interior Environmental Achievement Award. The Western Hardrock Watershed Team, the OSM/VISTA Team working in Colorado and New Mexico, is a program of SCC.
This is a national competition among all Department of the Interior agencies and partners. The OSM/VISTA Teams came in first in the Good Neighbor category for their demonstration of effective partnerships and support of their local communities. The citation recognizes both teams for their exemplary collaborative activity in community planning and sustainability initiatives, for our pursuit of sustainability goals, and for demonstrating success in aligning policies and practices with community partners to achieve those goals.
These awards acknowledge Department of the Interior employees and partners who have attained exceptional achievements under Executive Order 13514 “Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance.” The award brings new attention to the work of the OSM/VISTA Teams just when budgets are being considered. Congratulations OSM/VISTA teams!
