Executive Director – Four Corners Region

The Southwest Conservation Corps is seeking a highly qualified Executive Director for their Four Corners (FC) region based out of Durango, CO. The ED is responsible for the full management, leadership and continual development of the region’s programs and staff.  The FC region is SCC’s largest, fielding about 30 crews a year in SW Colorado and northern NM with a fulltime staff of 7 and several seasonal positions. Responsibilities also include managing and maintaining an annual budget of $2M in project work and other funding.   Minimal qualifications for this position include: 5 years of progressive leadership experience in non-profits; 5 years of Corps experience; ability to interact effectively with regional board, project partners, and the community; and the flexibility, adaptability, and capacity to work in a fluid, changing work environment. Program Coordinator – Four Corners Region

The Program Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to coordinate communication between the field and the office in addition to supervising and mentoring all field staff, (including seasonal Field Supervisors and Crew Leaders), to ensure crews are both supported and prepared to maintain safety, program integrity, and quality projects in the field.  The PC will also recruit, hire, and train seasonal crew leaders and field staff with the Program Director.  Both office and field operations are required by this position and a flexible schedule is a must!  On a normal year, the Durango based office runs a minimum of 130 weeks of fee for service work and 24 weeks of youth programs per year, hiring approximately 140 corps members.  In 2010, as a result of ARRA funds, SCC employed over 250 individuals.

Field Supervisor – Four Corners Region

The Field Supervisor’s primary role is to provide field support to our field staff and seasonal conservation crews by offering technical assistance, moral support, and ensuring program integrity through policy enforcement and positive mentoring. Field supervisors will also assist with program logistics and staff trainings. The Field Supervisor position is a seasonal position created through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding. On a normal year, the Durango based office runs a minimum of 130 weeks of fee for service work and 24 weeks of Community Corps programs per year, hiring approximately 140 corpsmembers. In 2010, as a result of ARRA funds, SCC employed over 300 individuals.

Crew Leader – All Regions

Southwest Conservation Corps’ Crew Leaders perform many roles and are the key to our program’s success.  The position is also multi-faceted and demanding, but with opportunity for enormous rewards.  Successful candidates will demonstrate high standards, compassion, excellent judgment, and the desire to devote themselves (at least seasonally!) to youth and the environment.  The Crew Leader position requires both supervisory and technical aptitude, and a high level of comfort in the outdoors.
