From the field….

This spring I have had the unique opportunity to work with the Southwest Conservation Corps on the Crew Leader Development Program. This experience is completely different than working a nine to five office job. The essence of our everyday lives involves intense challenges—from going without showering for twelve days to creating delicious curries for eight people after a laborious day of chainsaw work. My physical and mental capacity has been tested and pushed to new heights that have given me the strength and tenacity to face new challenges. After graduating college, moving home and working monotonous office jobs, I could never imagine I would be removing agave cactus with a pulaski in the Southwest.
