Tucson Urban Conservation Corps

Hello from Tucson, AZ!

We are finally getting an urban crew going here and I just wanted to give the run down on this amazing program. The Tucson Urban Conservation Corps or TUCC program is designed for students who attend Project M.O.R.E. (or any of the other alternative schools here in Tucson) in the morning and who need a part time job in the afternoon. Participants in this program will work to shut down social trails on Sentinel Peak (A-Mountain) in order to condense hiker traffic to one clearly defined trail, which they will also be constructing. The participants will not only earn money while in the TUCC program but also school credits! Oh, and did I mention that upon successful completion of the 6 week program they will be guaranteed a spot on a SCC 2010 Summer Residential Crew, how cool is that?

 That’s all for now,

TUCC Crew Leader (I’m so excited!)
